Snap OS FAQ's
Main Article: Snap OS FAQ
Software, Hardware and BIOS Versions
A common question is, "How do i find out what OS/Hardware/Server No/BIOS My unit is.
The simplest way to do this, is to visit the web interface page of your snap server
Then, in the top right hand corner of your browser, there will be a snap applicant/quantum/meridan logo. Click this, and a new window will appear telling you what you need to know.
Unable to Install Java
If you are having trouble installing the JVM on your snap server, and upgrading via the web interface gives an error like:
OS Update is in progress. Applying SUP file C:\snap_jvm.sup. The system may reboot itself in the process. Do not close the browser or switch to another page. The server must not be shut down until the process is completed. Please stand by... Processing file empty.txt 2 of 34 files (5% processed) Please enter a valid path. The path can contain up to 254 characters. The following characters are not allowed: * < > ?
And Assist just wont let you do it, the most likely cause is a Java$ share error - The share is either not there, or pointing to a non existant drive or similar.
Load the web interface, Login to administration, Select Security, then Network Shares Or http://snapserver/config?Func=ShareSend
If Java$ is listed, Select it and click properties. Select the combo box for Drives, and change it to a drive in the unit, click ok. You may be asked if you want to create the folder if it doesnt exist. Say yes for this
If it isnt listed, Select new, name it Java$, select a disk, for path put os_private\Java, and select "Create network share with full read and write access for all users"
